Our Mission

SUN Prevent Excess Through Sterilization is an all volunteer nonprofit 501c3 organization dedicated to helping solve the pet overpopulation problem in Snyder, Union, and Northumberland counties.

By helping to finance the cost of spaying or neutering of pets of low-income individuals and families, we can reduce the number of homeless cats and dogs.

Honoring A Friend: The Dr. Murphy's "Spay A Stray" Fund

Dr. Matthew Murphy of Keystone Mobile Veterinary Services was the first veterinarian to collaborate with SUN P.E.T.S. to provide mobile spay, neuter, and vaccination clinics in our area on a routine schedule. Over the past two years, his day-long clinics, scheduled by SUN P.E.T.S. every other month provided low-cost services to scores of companion and free-roaming cats in the Susquehanna Valley.

PITV 2015 Is Coming!

Paws In The Valley 2015 is coming and you are all invited. Last year was so much fun that we decided to do it again!

Come join us at Spyglass Ridge Winery outside of Sunbury on Sunday, October 4th from 11 am to 3 pm. There will be many vendors and nonprofit organizations on hand as well as great food. (Heck, we all know that food is the most important part, right?) Last year we had quite a turnout from our vendors and organizations. If you are interested in being a part of our event and having a vendor or nonprofit organization stand, please contact us

We are looking for sponsors for this year's fantastic event. We would love to have you or your company be a part of it. The deadline for sponsorships is August 7th. We have several levels, from $25 on up. Learn more about our sponsorships

Please Spay Or Neuter

Spaying or neutering your pet is one of the most important things you can do for them. By spaying or neutering your pet, you can prevent unwanted litters, decrease your pet’s desire to roam, reduce the risk of them being injured or killed, and reduce the risk of certain cancers.
