Our Mission

SUN Prevent Excess Through Sterilization is an all volunteer nonprofit 501c3 organization dedicated to helping solve the pet overpopulation problem in Snyder, Union, and Northumberland counties.

By helping to finance the cost of spaying or neutering of pets of low-income individuals and families, we can reduce the number of homeless cats and dogs.

Honoring A Friend: The Dr. Murphy's "Spay A Stray" Fund

Dr. Matthew Murphy of Keystone Mobile Veterinary Services was the first veterinarian to collaborate with SUN P.E.T.S. to provide mobile spay, neuter, and vaccination clinics in our area on a routine schedule. Over the past two years, his day-long clinics, scheduled by SUN P.E.T.S. every other month provided low-cost services to scores of companion and free-roaming cats in the Susquehanna Valley.

Please Spay Or Neuter

Spaying or neutering your pet is one of the most important things you can do for them. By spaying or neutering your pet, you can prevent unwanted litters, decrease your pet’s desire to roam, reduce the risk of them being injured or killed, and reduce the risk of certain cancers.

We just want to say thank you to everyone who donated during Raise The Region 2015! We will be receiving $1,475 in donations! YAY!

Time To Eat The Donuts!

Calling all runners and walkers who love donuts! Haven-to-Home and SUN P.E.T.S. have teamed up to raise much needed funds by creating this region's only Donut Dash Challenge!

This fun run/walk will take place on Saturday, April 18th and will consist of a 2 mile "race" along River Road in Lewisburg. At the halfway point, all runners will be given a dozen donuts that they MUST eat prior to finishing the race. Walkers have it a little easier and will only have to eat three donuts. The race will start at 10 am for runners, and at 10:15 am for walkers, along River Road in Lewisburg, directly behind the Bucknell University campus.

Pre-registration entry fee is $25 and is due Friday, March 20th. Those that pre-register will be guaranteed a race day t-shirt. After March 20th, the registration entry fee is $30. Registration on the day of the event starts at 8:30 am. Additional race t-shirts may be available for purchase. Group participation is welcomed! Sorry no headphones or pets during the race.
