Petsmart TNR Grant
​SUN P.E.T.S. is the recipient of a $15,000 grant from Petsmart Charities to be utilized in the Coal Region towns in southern Northumberland County for spaying/neutering and providing rabies vaccinations to outside, community, feral, free-roaming cats. This grant is to be utilized by volunteers who trap-neuter-return (TNR) outside cats in their neighborhoods or rural property to reduce the number of homeless cats in the towns of Shamokin, Coal Township, Uniontown, Ranshaw, Kulpmont, Mt. Carmel, Marion Heights, Natalie, Elysburg and the smaller villages in the Coal Region Area (a total of 17 zip code areas).

To see if you qualify, and to obtain financial assistance through this Petsmart Charities grant to TNR any colonies of outside cats, please contact SUN P.E.T.S. at 570-523-1135 or email us at Traps will be available for loan, if needed, and instruction / coordination will be provided to volunteers willing to do the trapping and provide care to the colonies in their neighborhoods. Two low-cost spay/neuter clinics (No Nonsense Neutering in Mahanoy City, and Beckoning Cat Project in Williamsport) have agreed to provide spay/neuter and vaccination services for the recipients of this grant funding.
